Guide Books and Maps
This describes the guide books and maps that are available for the Via Francigena and other related pilgrim routes such as those including Assisi. Most (if not all) of the guidebooks are available for consultation in the CPR Library (see CPR Library). A page devoted to maps & guides for the Santiago to Rome route is to follow.
Maps are often included in guidebooks but will not show a very large area so one may have problems if one takes an incorrect turn and ends up ‘off the map’!. Until the Via Francigena becomes as well waymarked as the various routes to Santiago it is sensible to have a good map in addition to the guidebook.
